Introducing
Pastor Vince Derr
We are excited to introduce Vince Derr as the new pastor of New Life Church! After a thorough pastoral search process, Vince was voted in by our congregation, and we are thrilled to welcome him and his family to our church family.
Ministry Journey
Vince has been in ministry for over 8 years. Most recently, he served for 6 years as the Connections Pastor at Steamboat Rock Baptist Church in Steamboat Rock, IA. Prior to that, Vince served as a Youth and Children’s Pastor for 30 months at a church in Vinton, IA. Additionally, Vince completed a 21-month ministry internship in Holland, Michigan, which further shaped his approach to ministry.
In 2022, Vince graduated with a Master of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan. His education and practical ministry experience have equipped him to serve the church with humility, wisdom, and a strong desire to preach the Word of God.
A Heart for Preaching and Serving
Vince’s passion is to serve as a preaching pastor. He is excited to shepherd and serve New Life Church for many years to come. As part of the candidacy process, the Pastoral Search Team and Elders evaluated Vince in five key areas: Theological Alignment, Cultural Competence, Skills and Abilities, Personality Fit, and Chemistry. Vince’s qualities of humility, teachability, and wisdom stood out in these interviews, and we believe he is a great fit for New Life Church.
Meet The Family
Vince is married to Victoria, who is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in English. Victoria works from home for her family’s agricultural business.
Vince and Victoria were married on October 12, 2019, and they have one son, Alfred, who was born on June 19, 2023. The Derr family is excited about this new chapter and their move to New Life Church.
